Goodbye Róisín!

The school is so sad to be saying goodbye to school secretary Róisín who has worked in the school office for the last three years. Róisín will be finishing in Scoil Thomáis on Friday 27th October and takes up another employment offer after midterm.

The BOM and the school community wish to thank Rosin for her great work and for always being so helpful to everyone - parents, pupils and school staff alike!

We will miss Róisín and wish her all the very best of luck in her new job!

Well done to the Winners!

Well done to the girls who won the Scoil Thomáis Parents Association Halloween Cake Decorating competition! Here they are pictured with their prize of a Blanchardstown Shopping Centre Voucher. The competition was a great success - thank you to everyone who got involved!

Visit from Digital Schools Validator

It was a real pleasure to have Dr Daithí Ó Murchú visit Scoil Thomáis for a Digital Schools of Distinction Validation visit on Thursday the 19th of October. Daithí visited a total of 12 classrooms and saw a wide variety of technology being used by the pupils around the school.

Many thanks to all of the teachers who were kind enough to volunteer to allow Daithí visit their classrooms during the visit!

A big thank you to the teachers on the Digital Schools of Distinction Committee who worked over the last year on achieving the standard needed to apply for the Digital Schools of Distinction Award.

We hope to hear positive news back from the DSoD Committee some day soon!

Parent Information Evening

Scoil Thomáis continues it's implementation of the Anti-Bullying programme again this school year in accordance with the Department of Education Guidelines. This year, for classes 1st - 6th, we will be teaching a set of awareness raising lessons over the school year as part of a special Anti-Bullying initiative which is being co-funded by Fingal County Council.

As part of the implementation of the Anti-Bullying programme in the school, parents/guardians are invited to a Parent Information Evening which will focus on Parents Positive Role in Potential Bullying Situations which will be held in Scoil Thomáis on Tuesday evening 3rd October at 7.30pm.

The meeting will last for approx 1 hour and will be addressed by anti-bullying expert Monica Monaghan who developed this programme for schools. This workshop focusses on the understanding of bullying behaviour from a parent's perspective and will give parents strategies to deal with any bullying problems without anger or blameful reaction.

All parents are strongly advised to attend this important meeting and to support the school in implementing this very worthwhile programme in the school.
