2018 Visit of the Sam Maguire and Brendan Martin Cups

There was great excitement in Scoil Thomáis today when All Ireland Senior Football Champion Ciarán Kilkenny visited with the Sam Maguire cup. We were also lucky enough to be visited by a member of the All Ireland Senior Ladies Football Champion team and the Brendan Martin cup too! Pupils from Junior Infants and Senior Infants formed a guard of honour welcoming our special guests to the school. When Ciarán and the Sam Maguire arrived to the hall, there was a great reception from pupils and staff. Some pupils from 6th Class got the chance to ask Ciarán some questions like "Have you any advice for younger players?" and "Who is the hardest player you've ever marked?". Everyone sung "Sam is Coming Home" while Ciarán Kilkenny walked around the pupils with the Sam Maguire.

Thank you to the organisers of the visit - we hope to see Sam back again next year after the 5-in-a-row win!
