Thank you so much to all of the families who so generously donated to our St Vincent dePaul food appeal this morning. Because of you many households struggling at the moment will have a brighter Christmas.
Thank you to the Parents' Association for coordinating and organising the appeal.
Thank you to Ms Egan who was involved in coordinating the visit, as well as Ms Lenihan who acted as MC for Ciarán's visit in the school hall.
Many thanks to our teachers - Ms Fitzgerald, Mr J. Gurhy, Mr N.Gurhy, Mr O'Mahony, and Mr Ryan - who work with our pupils to develop GAA skills in the school.
On Thursday 16th November, three classes from Scoil Thomáis participated in the Intel Mini-Scientist Exhibition which took place in the school hall. Mr Doherty's, Mr. O’Connor’s, Ms. Flynn’s and Ms. Glynn’s 5th Classes worked extremely hard both at home and in school over the past few weeks preparing for the event.
All the boys and girls as well as their teachers were very proud of their final projects and displays. Intel, who judged the event, provided a goody bag and certificate to every student. All the visiting classes and Intel judges were blown away with the standard of work.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, but especially to Aoife Kenny, Hannah De Leon and Rebecca Tansey, from Ms.Flynn and Ms.Glynn’s class who won first prize with their project ‘Ready, Set, Grow’. Congratulations also to Conor Hughes, Michael Kelly and Ryan Habibi, from Mr.Doherty’s class, who won second prize and to Claudia Hanrahan and Robyn Reilly, also from Mr.Doherty’s class, who won Third place.
Aoife, Hannah and Rebecca now go on to represent Scoil Thomáis in the Mini Scientist Regional Finals which will be held on December 8th in IT Blanchardstown. Wishing them the best of luck!
