Spring has sprung in Scoil Thomáis and while we’re not in school for Lá Fhéile Bríde, the traditional first day of Spring in Ireland, Mick, one of our caretakers, has kindly shared some photographs of the plants growing and flourishing around the grounds of the school. He's also shared some photographs of the recent flurries of snow in Laurel Lodge too.
Our ancillary staff have been working hard behind the scenes during this current school closure so we’d like to say a special thank you to Mick and Tony, our caring caretakers and Geraldine and Collette, our super secretaries!
Please enjoy Mick's photos below
Scoil Thomáis Parents’ Association in association with the school has organised a workshop for parents on the topic of Internet Safety for Thursday 21st January 2021 from 7.30- 9.30pm. Expert speaker Ger Brick (who presented a workshop to 5th Classes in December) will speak to parents on the topic of internet safety and cyberbullying. The PA strongly encourage parents of pupils in all classes to attend, this topic has added urgency given the fact that so many children are now accessing social media and gaming apps as a leisure activity during lockdown times. A link will be sent to you next week via the PA WhatsApp groups.
The Department of Education confirmed that schools will not reopen as planned in January 2021 and all schools should move to Remote Learning from Monday 11th January. Therefore Scoil Thomáis will be activating our Remote Learning Plan with effect from this date.
Please read the information letter sent to parents below.
