Making Cribs in Room 7

The boys and girls in Room 7 have been making beautiful cribs in the run up to Christmas. They used recycled cereal boxes, crepe paper, cotton wool and other materials to decorate the cribs.

The children can bring their cribs to any of the masses in St Thomas the Apostle Church this weekend (the 3rd weekend of Advent) to have them blessed. Lovely work - well done boys and girls!

Halloween in Room 8

Over the past couple of weeks the children in Room 8 have been very busy with all things Autumn and Halloween. From sorting the Autumn colours, finger painting autumn pictures to creating spooky pumpkin pictures, clay spiders and fabric and fibre mummies. The children have enjoyed learning about Halloween traditions, games and particularly songs and poems in English agus as Gaeilge. It was also a lot of fun dressing up in our costume shop!

A very Happy Halloween from the children in Room 8. MUAH HA HA HA!!

Halloween in Room 9

We’ve been having a great time getting ready for Halloween in Room 9!

We designed pumpkin faces using 2d shapes and used these to help us pick a face for our class pumpkin! We carved our pumpkin and learned all about the different parts- the pulp, the seeds, the stem and the skin. When we were finished we put a candle inside it and lit it up!

We’ve been very busy making clay spiders and bats and dressing up in funny Halloween costumes during Aistear time this week!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Autumn in Room 7

The Junior Infants in Room 7 were very busy during Autumn! They collected leaves to do some leaf rubbings for our autumn tree and to make our leaf men. They created stained glass hedgehogs and they planted some daffodil bulbs with the help of Eamonn. We should see them popping up in early spring.

We’re also getting ready for Halloween and the children are getting great use out of the Junior Infant Halloween shop! Happy Halloween from all the Junior Infants!

Planting Bulbs in Junior Infants

On Wednesday the Junior Infant classes planted daffodil bulbs outside the windows of Room 9 and 10. We can’t wait to see them bloom in spring. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for them!
