Well Done, Girls!

Well done to our girls on their recent victory over St.Vincents GNS Marino, in the Semi-Final of the Cumann na mBunscol Corn Comhar Linn! The game was played in Albert Park on what was a very cold and windy day.

Scoil Thomáis started strong and from early on, demonstrated just how skilled our 6 forwards were. After a couple of wides, we settled well into the game scoring two great goals. A combination of hard work by our two midfielders meant we limited St.Vincent's scoring chances. At halftime, we led with a scoreline of 2-5 to 3 points.
We knew we would face a much tougher second half but some heroic defending ensured that St.Vicents had to really work for their scores. Some great kick-outs from our goalkeeper meant that we could work the ball up the field and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Two quick goals by St.Vincents meant that it was a nervy finish to the game. Our substitutes made a huge impact and brought some much-needed energy into the team in the closing ten minutes.
A last-ditch goal-line clearance by our full back ensured that Scoil Thomáis would reach the final next week in Parnell Park where we will face St.Mary's of Donnybrook!
