At the meeting, parents will learn lots about Scoil Thomáis and they will also receive the booklet below which details important information about the school, our policies and procedures. You can read it by scrolling down using the right-hand scroll button or by popping it out using the arrow in the right hand corner.
Ancient Greece
Room 21
Ancient Greece Project
Room 21 were given an Ancient Greece Project to complete. We were all given a booklet to fill in about the Gods, the Goddesses, the War of Marathon and the Olympic Games. We also had to make up and write our very own Aesop Fable.
We all made amazing models of The Parthenon using shoe boxes, cereal boxes and other materials such as wood, paper, paint and paper mache.
We all had a great time doing this project.

Writing Workshop with Alan Gibbons.
Friday, 9th May
Recently Room 21 was visited by Alan Gibbons, a very famous and award winning English writer.
The pupils wrote their own superhero stories entitled ‘Metamorphosis’. These stories were inspired from Alan Gibbons.
He encouraged us to keep on writing and he gave us some fantastic writing tips.
We were very honoured to have such a great author in our school.

1st Class go on a Minibeast Hunt
We went on a minibeast hunt today (Friday, 1st May). We found many minibeasts during our hunt. We went looking for insects and creepy-crawlies on the grass beside the school yard and in the school garden. The most common minibeasts we found were ants, woodlice, beetles and spiders. We also found worms, a snail, a bumblebee, a caterpillar, a ladybird, a bloodsucker and a crane fly. We did not see any butterflies on our hunt. We used magnifying glasses to look at the creatures and we collected some of them in pooters. When we were finished looking at them, we let them go again. When we got back to our classroom we counted all of our tally marks and wrote about our minibeast hunt.
