Dublin 15 GAA Blitz for Girls
The girl’s GAA senior team of Scoil Thomáis did very well at Dublin 15 Blitz today. They worked very hard and all players did their very best. The Blitz was organised by Mary Mother of Hope, Littlepace and all matches were played on their pitches. We played Ladyswell, Mary Mother of Hope, Scoil Oilibhéir and Castaheany Educate together. Lots of goals and points were scored by a variety of players. Our best score line was Scoil Thomáis 3-14 to 1 point. Lots of sun-cream and water was needed on the day as well as a snack break with some ice-cream to cool us all down! Well done to all the girls who played today and thank you to the teachers who came with us. Thank you also to parents and supporters who turned up on the day, particularly our 3rd class supporters and reporters!

Scoil Thomáis Chess Tournament 2017
After eight exciting weeks, the Scoil Thomáis Chess Tournament ended with an outstanding final between Arnas Birbalas and Patrick Langan. For both players it was an amazing achievement to reach the final as the number of entrants was higher than ever before. The match itself was intense but, after some canny thinking and great moves, Arnas emerged the winner and received the tournament trophy. Each of the year group finalists were presented with medals for their hard work. All winners from each year participated in a master class with chess master and teacher, Úna O’Boyle. Thanks to teachers Ms Steen and Ms Farragher and to students Michelle Pemberton, Conor Martin and Fiachra Barry for putting so much time into organising and overseeing the event. Congratulations to everyone who participated and we look forward to next year’s tournament.
